Here’s our story: Barbette was originally a maternity store that opened 49 years ago. The shop’s owners were Barb (short for Barbara) and Betsy (short for Elizabeth) – and they decided to name their new business ‘Barbette.’ These two enterprising ladies built their successful business into a lingerie line, and finally settled into sportswear 28 years ago. Betsy retired years ago, and when Barb was ready to retire in 2004, her daughter Maralee partnered with her good friend Liz and they became the new faces behind Barbette II. Where does fate come in? Maralee’s given first name is Barbara, and Liz, of course, is short for Elizabeth! So you can see where we think this was all meant to be!
Now you can be part of the story – just come in and experience the fresh new fashion, the exciting new lines, the jazzy accessories – its all “familiar – yet surprisingly new!”
Our aim is to offer the very latest in fashion trends, so we travel to the fashion showrooms to find new and unique merchandise for our customers. Top of the list is our trips to New York City because there we get to feel the buzz, see the hottest trends, talk with designers, and bring home the newest lines and accessories – for you!
We offer a wide variety of tops, shirts, sweaters, pants, capris, skirts, jackets, dresses, T-shirts and the must-have , ever-popular denim jean. Accessories we feature include jewelry, scarves, handbags, belts and seasonal footwear.

We continue the Barbette tradition by offering quality merchandise and superb customer service in a warm and friendly setting – and our updated outlook is reflected in our boutique and in the new lines and great accessories we offer. We are very proud of our second-generation status and the boutique’s rich heritage – and feel it’s a wonderful foundation on which to continue to build our expertise in the exciting fashion industry!
